Rev. Wright Just Won't Quit!

No, no no! Rev. Wright, your church does not represent most black churches! (See San Diego Union-Tribune article “Obama’s ex-pastor reignites controversy”.) The majority of black churches don’t practice the “other gospel” of Black Liberation Theology. Nor do most black churches support homosexuals in positions of leadership in the church, nor downgrade the importance of the headship of the husband in his family as your church does!

Obama must see clearly now that he truly made a gargantuan mistake at being a member of your church, for the sake of “joining” the black community! This is the same mistake that black people make by partaking of Kwanzaa, supporting Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson in their lunatic grandstanding protests against white racism and the like.

I genuinely believe that Barack Obama does NOT believe as Rev. Wright does, but unfortunately he now appears “weak” in the eyes of many for not taking a stand sooner and leaving that church in a hurry! Many are confused by Obama’s association with this pastor. The question remains, how could he be a part of that church for so long and not know of Rev. Wrights raves and rants? Many answer that question by believing he did know exactly what Wright preaches and teaches so therefore, he must think like him too! That is Obama’s dilemma.

My family experienced somewhat the same situation of Barack Obama. In our case it was Dr. Karenga, the creator of Kwanzaa, as my sister’s “spiritual mentor.” He was close to her, so close that he, like Rev. Wright and Obama, married my sister and her husband. It was painful for me to go to her wedding knowing good and well that Karenga made mockery of Christianity and spoke terribly of white people. I was supposed to be her matron of honor, but refused to participate. It was only the tears of my mother that got me and my family to that wedding.

What was so perplexing to me about my sister is that six days of the week, she mingled with her white friends who she loved dearly while participating with Karenga’s black activist group, the US Organization on Sundays! My sister appeared to be a black radical and how offended would her white friends be if they knew of her involvement! But she loved her friends (and still does) as they are a very important part of her life!

My experience with my sister has helped me to understand somewhat Barack Obama’s position. Even if he knew of Rev. Wright’s fanaticism, I could see his yearning to be a part of this “black identity.” Of course, folks such as myself know better and would never be a part of organizations such as the US group, or Rev. Wright’s church. I have been a member of a black church here in San Diego and it in no way resembles Rev. Wright’s church! The gospel of Christ was not compromised for the sake of being black in this church (Bayview Baptist of San Diego), and anyone of any color was welcomed!

I did eventually leave this church because I wanted a church that had more diversity. I found that church in the Rock Church of San Diego. Ironically, the pastor is black, but you wouldn’t know it by the congregation. The preaching is also centered upon the gospel of Christ – no compromise which unfortunately Rev. Wright’s church has done to please people and not God!

I really like Obama and believes he loves all people and is quite different from a Sharpton or J Jackson. But his 20 year association with Rev. Wright is very disturbing and one wonders that if he didn’t have the backbone to standup to this guy sooner, what kind of backbone will he have in being the president of the United States?

How he handles Rev. Wright now may make a difference – or it may be too much too little too late!

About this Rev. Wright Mess

by Carlotta Morrow — Categories: Black Liberation Theology, Obamaisms, Rev. WrightLeave a comment

(This is no April Fools!)

It’s disturbing to me to see ANY black church in support of the Black Liberation Theology (BLT). It’s “another gospel” that the scriptures warns us about:

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in he grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:6-8

How is the “BLT” theology another gospel? It teaches that the oppressed are black people and white people are the oppressors that we must be freed from. If you are black and poor, then God is automatically with you. If you are white, then you are automatically of the devil.

This teaching does nothing more than incite bigotry and reverse racism and its appalling of the number of Black churches that practice this. Obama should have tested this church by simply asking his mother and grandmother would they be comfortable going to this church. If as evangelical Christians, we can’t bring anyone of any ethnicity to our church for spiritual feeding, then we have no business being a part of it!

More on this later.

This is just getting me started.
