Obama disses Christianity while embracing Islam's Ramadan

Obama’s claims of being a Christian have caused many of us to question him already because of his support of abortion, homosexual issues, his previous statements regarding biblical positions and the manner in which he’s handling our government.  But recently he’s shown why many believe he’s quite proactive in disrespecting the Lord he claims to serve.

The latest comes in the form of hosting a Ramadan dinner in the White House on September 1.  Not just with words of praise, but the participation of an actual Ramadan feast.  Showing respect for another person’s religion is one thing, but embracing it and practicing it’s rituals is another thing altogether!

He welcomes this ritual by saying the following:

“And most of all, I want to welcome all the American Muslims from many walks of life who are here.  This is just one part of our effort to celebrate Ramadan, and continues a long tradition of hosting iftars here at the White House.”

Ramadan created in honor of the Quran

What is Ramadan? What is an iftar?  What are people really celebrating and why?  Not knowing much about Ramadan myself, I did a little digging and have come up with a few things about it from various websites.

Ramadan is described as the following from history.com:

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic year, the holy month of fasting ordained by the Koran for all adult Muslims of the Islamic faith. According to the Koran, the fast of Ramadan has been instituted so that believers “may cultivate piety”; this particular month was designated because it was the month during which Muhammad received the first of the Koran’s revelations.

Ramadan was initially created as a celebration of the creation of the Quran.  Another explanation of the origins from rumela.com:

The Month of Ramadan is also when it is believed the Holy Quran “was sent down from heaven, a guidance unto men, a declaration of direction, and a means of Salvation”.

So let’s get this straight. By bringing Ramadan into the White House and praising it, Obama is telling people how great this religion is in creating another book of revelation that contradicts our salvation and our Lord Jesus Christ!  Something a politician would do who didn’t care about compromising his beliefs as Obama has done time and time again.

And the “iftar” he mentioned above is the name of the Ramadan dinner.  It is explained as follows (from rumela.com):

During the Fast of Ramadan strict restraints are placed on the daily lives of Muslims. They are not allowed to eat or drink during the daylight hours. Smoking and sexual relations are also forbidden during fasting. At the end of the day the fast is broken with prayer and a meal called the iftar. In the evening following the iftar it is customary for Muslims to go out visiting family and friends. The fast is resumed the next morning.

Should ALL religious holidays be celebrated in the White House?

Couldn’t Obama just had a dinner recognizing the Muslims during a time that WASN’T during Ramadan? Now he’s going to have to recognize EVERY religious celebration by all the religions celebrated in the United States if he’s going to be fair about it.  But something tells me that’s not about to happen.  He will show how much he favors the Muslims by not recognizing ALL other religious celebrations.

More quotes from Obama on this dinner:

“Tonight’s iftar is a ritual that is also being carried out this Ramadan at kitchen tables and mosques in all 50 states.”

How many mosques hold Christmas dinners?

Obama about religion: “They all contain truths.”

“And while Muhammad Ali could not join us tonight, it is worth reflecting upon his remarkable contributions, as he’s grown from an unmatched fighter in the ring to a man of quiet dignity and grace who continues to fight for what he believes — and that includes the notion that people of all faiths holds things in common.  I love this quote.  A few years ago, he explained this view — and this is part of why he’s The Greatest — saying, “Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams — they all have different names, but they all contain water.  Just as religions do — they all contain truths.”

Wow! In the paragraph above, Obama says what makes Muhammad Ali partly the greatest because of his belief that all religions contain truths!  Obama is praising ALL religions because of their truths!

That paragraph is another piece of evidence that shows Obama’s lack of regard for the bible being God’s unadulterated book of God-inspired truth and the ONLY book of truth for mankind to follow!  No one could pay me to say what Obama said in front of all those people and for the world to see!

He closed the feast by saying the following:

“So tonight, we celebrate a great religion, and its commitment to justice and progress.  We honor the contributions of America’s Muslims, and the positive example that so many of them set through their own lives.  And we rededicate ourselves to the work of building a better and more hopeful world.

So thanks to all of you for taking the time to be here this evening.  I wish you all a very blessed Ramadan.  And with that, I think we can start a feast.  I don’t know what’s on the menu, but I’m sure it will be good.  (Laughter.)  Thank you very much, everybody.  (Applause.)”

Islam should be respected but not embraced.

Okay. I do agree with the contributions of many Muslims who have done our country good, but Islam is not coming off as a great religion right now.  I will never forget the number of my Muslim neighbors who cheered when 9/11 happened.  The hatred of our country runs deep and sadly that’s even within many of the Muslims who have decided to make America their home.

Obama has embraced a religion that hates us, that denies Jesus Christ as the Son of God, that doesn’t recognize the bible as God’s only word to mankind and many more things that one can see on this chart that shows the difference between our religions:  Comparison Grid between Christianity and Islamic Doctrine (CARM.org).

I respect Islam as a religion.  I respect Muslims practicing their religion in our country and practicing their rituals and their dress as long as it doesn’t impede upon the safety of our country and its people.  The Muslim people have that right as our constitution dictates.  And oh yes, as long as the right to practice their beliefs doesn’t cause others to compromise their own.

A Call for Self-Examination

My prayer is for President Obama to open his eyes to much that is going wrong with him and his handling of our country.  But most importantly my prayer is for him to examine himself and to truly obey our Lord.

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. 2 Corinthians 13:5

And no, there will be no prayers from me for him to die!

We are truly living in the last days when a President of our country holds a post ramadan dinner but backs out of a day of prayer with Franklin Graham. Obama says he’s a christain but he says whatever he needs to to pander for votes. He’s clearly an imposter in every sense of the word. Islam is a cancer that is spreading globally and needs to be stopped not appeased. If this president wins the election & gets 4 more yrs God help this country. Obana’s actions will bring God’s judgment on us all….

  2. ecstealth says:

Obama is a muslim. In Islam it doesn’t matter what you say it matters if you practice the Shahada. Obama can say he is a christian but as far as practicing who knows. I wouldn’t be surprised during his oath of office when they had him swear on a bible and the Chief Justice messed up the words and they did a do-over that wasn’t televised that the do-over was on a Koran and not the Holy Bible. Oh and what’s with everyone changing their name to mohammed as well as what’s with mohammed being called the prophet mohammed or holy prophet mohammed whereas every other prophet is simply called e.g. moses and not the holy prophet moses.

This looks like the beginnings of a push towards a one world religion. I am not looking for the US to be liked by all countries. I am not looking to be liked by everyone. I know that as a Christian, I will not be liked by all. I believe in respecting others and their religious beliefs, but I will never worship other gods just to be courteous. The Christian loyalty lies with the one true God.

I have never bought the idea that Obama is a Christian. Many people claim to be Chrisitan and are not.

  4. Neil says:

Bahlool, I just realized that I misspelled your name in the last comment. My apologies!

  5. Neil says:

Muslims believe in christianity and Jesus, just like you believe in Moses and jews

    Hi Balhool,

Muslims and Christians believe radically different things about Jesus. The Koran is emphatic that Jesus did not die on the cross, while Christianity and even secular historical scholars emphatically know that He did.

And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him – they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him. Instead, GOD raised him to Him; GOD is Almighty, Most Wise. Koran, Sura 4:157-158

  6. Bahlool says:

There is a lot of misleading information here. I’ll keep this short:

    1. Muslims believe in christianity and Jesus, just like you believe in Moses and jews. yet on the other hand you don’t just like the jews don’t believe in christianity.

    2. Don’t mix politics with religion. Bush has done so many bad things to the whole world and America is no longer a name people look for freedom and respect. Therefore Obama will try to do whatever it takes to get the good image back in other countries minds as you’ve lost a lot of alliance and faith in people outside the states.

    3. You should visit Dubai and see how Christians are taking advantage of Ramadan and having a blast while enjoying the culture. Nothing worng with mingiling with others and get to know them better in order to guid them on the right track.

The way this article is written is just sympathy. There is no positive objective behind it and it’s just there to deceive people in loosing faith in Obama for the sake of seeing him as a president fail.

IMO, I don’t see anything wrong in what he did politically and if this could lead to rebuild the image the States lost then be it.

  7. Neil says:

Great point, Edgar! Please do a whole post on that so I can link to it.

  8. Mr. Atheist says:

    Tip: “it’s” is not possessive.

Fact: When I was a Christian, I participated in a Seder once… was that a “diss to Christianity”?

  9. Edgar says:

    Imagine Moses telling Pharaoh:
I know your God is Awesome, that he is loving. that You have a Holy Book like ours… (Lightning Strikes)…

This also reminds me of Mount Carmel.

Any Christian that is telling Muslims their God is good and Their Book is Holy — is horribly mistaken and has been tagged for Romans 9:22.

  10. Kim says:

I don’t see a single thing wrong with the fact that our president is participating in Ramadan and having an iftar meal. I feel as if he is doing this to show his open-mindedness to other religious beliefs and practices. When I wasn’t a Muslim (I am one now) I participated in Ramadan out of support and respect for my Muslim friends and the Muslim community. many many non Muslims (including Christians) celebrate Ramadan for that same reason.
I personally don’t feel like he is “dissing” Christianity, everyone is differnt, everyone has differnt ways of living their life whether they are Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etc… Just because he doesn’t say or do things that, according to some peoples standards, are Christian, doesn’t mean he is blowing off his religion.

  11. Neil says:

That sums up a great post. Should we treat Muslims with respect? Of course! I have a Muslim employee and we get along well. But one thing I appreciate is that during a few discussions we’ve had on religion that he agrees that we both can’t be right. That’s a start!

No one claiming to be a Christian should pretend that other religions are valid ways to God. The Bible teaches 100 times directly or indirectly that Jesus is the only way to salvation and the Old Testament has countless warnings about worshiping the one true God and not false gods.

Really, try it and see. Flip to random places in your Bible and look for these themes. They are really hard to miss.

Thanks Neil! One of the lamest things anyone can say is that all religions are good and that all are truthful. How can that be when one truth may contradict another? That was one of the most disturbing and unintelligent things that Obama said during this dinner.

But as you pointed out, God has warned us on the worshipping of false idols. Embracing a false belief system is no different that the Old Testament Israelites bowing down to their golden idols!

    says:

Kim, if Christians embrace the truth of the bible, then we will heed such commands as this one:

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. – Ephesians 5:11

Different gospels or “truths” as Obama calls them is quite contrary to the Christian faith as shown in these biblical verses:

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:6-9

President Obama is praising religions whose gospels are cursed in the bible! Kim, there are too many commandments in the Christian bible to list here that warn us about compromising our faith and the spiritual consequences of doing so.

So again, respecting one another is okay. But praising any religion but ours as God’s word and truth is blasphemous.

  14. Mr. Atheist says:

    Kim,

Thank you for being a voice a reason. Peace unto you.

Great analogy Edgar and AMEN on Romans 9:22!

  16. Mr. Atheist says:

The thing is, you both claim to worship the God of Abraham.

  17. Mr. Atheist says:

    Carlotta,

And I assume you eat no shellfish? (Leviticus 11:11)

Naturally I imagine you would never dare lie naked next to your husband when on your period? (Leviticus 20:18)

It’s the 21st century. Let’s not continue to act like the Crusades are a great, Christian campaign!

  18. Carlotta

    says:

I just recently participated in a Seder recently myself and no it’s not a diss to Christianity at all because it’s centered upon truthful Jewish history that doesn’t contradict the bible at all. In fact the centerpiece of the Seder is the Torah, a book that Christianity recognizes as God’s truth.

  19. Carlotta

The shellfish argument is very old on my blog. Do a search on “shellfish” and you should see the discussion on that.

  20. Carlotta

    says:

Bahlool, I appreciate your honest comments regarding my post but I do want to clarify a few things. The first and is that the Jesus that Muslims believe in is not the Jesus of the Christian’s bible. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and not a mere prophet. We believe he is 100% equal to God and the one to whom we obtain salvation through. That link I gave in my post on the differences will go into more detail.

Now as far as Obama winning the hearts of other countries back to America, I did have great hopes in Obama doing that. But I’m disappointed that he’s trying to do so at the cost of putting our country down and compromising the Christian faith. (His many “apologies” and his alliance with known enemies of ours.)

Mixing politics and religion? You simply can’t separate the two. Obviously, Obama is trying but if one truly loves God, then they will be forever conscious of his commandments, many of which are all about worshipping false idols and associating with religions that do the same. A Christian president sitting down and having a dinner honoring the Quran and a religion that rejects the Lordship of Jesus Christ is a very major compromise.

This article’s main purpose was exposing what President Obama has done and question more and more his relationship to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Well said and a huge AMEN!

I also don’t believe that Obama is a Christian. I just wonder why he even calls himself one to begin with!
