This was quietly reported as I haven’t seen it posted too many places. But just further proof that Obama is in full support of gay rights. Michelle Obama was the keynote speaker at the Democratic Party’s Gay and Lesbian leadership Council – from OneNewsNow.com:
An ABC News report on the event says Mrs. Obama stated that “Barack believes that we must fight for a world as it should be.” She said that world would be a place where, what she called, ” discriminatory laws” like the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) will be repealed. DOMA gives states the right to reject homosexual “marriages,” even when such unions are performed in states like Massachusetts and California where they have been legalized.
The Defense of Marriage Act is considered discriminatory by the Obamas. So no doubt here, any and every effort made in defending the act of marriage with one man and one woman will be shot down if Obama becomes president.
and she continues saying . . .
“the federal government should not stand in the way of states that want to decide for themselves how best to pursue equality for gay and lesbian couples, whether that means a domestic partnershp, a civil union, or a civil marriage.”
Michelle Obama went as far as to even equate gay rights with civil rights when the following was said on the Village Voice site:
She mentioned that June 26 was the fifth anniversary of Lawrence v. Texas, the landmark Supreme Court decision that struck down the state’s anti-sodomy law, and she used the phrase, “from Selma to Stonewall,” to connect the gay and civil rights movements.
It’s very disturbing to hear of this type of support for the gay community, but this is something that Obama has been giving us hints throughout! But to equate civil rights with gay rights shows again, that this couple has been completely brainwashed by Rev. Wright’s church, as this was a teaching that the church supports.
Well, there we have it! No doubt at all that this presidential candidate will attempt to put down every act that’s out there in defense of marriage.

I’m amazed when those in the black community treat sexual preferences as Civil Rights. Skin color is morally neutral, but sexual behavior is not.

You’re quite welcomed!
Just ask for patience as I get used to WordPress. I was just getting the hang of Blogger and now I’m starting all over – nearly!
I really like the fact that I can even use WordPress to publish books complete with indexes, chapters and table of contents!
Well much to learn!
Fourth of July and the family is beckoning. They know if they left me alone, I would never be off of this computer!
Happy 4th!
Hi Carlotta!
Thanks for the alert that you brought your blog to WordPress! I like it! I have always wished that Blogger had a “latest comment” page element.
Good for you that you moved away from Blogger.
I think you are correct. Being associated with google, their “people” obviously have an anti-Christian bias.
Happy Independence Day!
Yes, you’re right Pamela. I won’t continue and like you said, hopefully will give them some thought provoking things to think about.
It will be against scriptural standards to get involved in an endless argument with them – so I’ll bow out at this point.
imspeakingtruth, thanks for the info about MLK. I had heard about hanging out with communists but honestly did not know about dealing with other spiritual leaders. As I stated I did a brief read of I think one article. Hopefully as he lived his life he became stronger in faith in Christ. It sounded like he did. Only God knows for sure at this point.
Carlotta, you did what you needed to do on that site. You have provoked thought. If nothing else later on in their lives your words could pop back in their minds. It would be too easy to get in a fight, which from my understanding would go against what this site was initially set up for. Arguing about this issue is useless. The Lord must deal with the hearts and minds of people. Believe me when I tell you they can be the meanest people in the world, especially the really bitter ones. I had first hand experience with a former ORU classmate.
speakingtruth, thanks for your kind words! I knew it was going to get hot in there. I just didn’t want them to get away without knowing that a black Christian wasn’t going to follow Obama and that homosexual support ideology. I said my two pieces, now I need to get out!
Hey, I had just finished reading that article on MLK. Thanks for sharing that! Now you really have me interested in digging this info out about him. I’m not surprised, just hoping he was a bit different.
Carlotta,
I gotta give you props for going into the lions den and calmy stating your opposition to homosexual “unions”.
I’ve learned that we must continue to speak in truth – and shake the dust off if/when others reject it.
You get a pat on the back for even commenting on that board
I just finished posting a comment to them. I won’t be surprised if it’s taken off because folks feelings are getting hurt!
Yes, because I declared homosexuality is immoral, I’m now a bigot and very hateful. Typical responses from the gay folks and their supporters.
And like you read Pamela, I’m a whore too! Well, I knew what I was getting into. After this last post, hopefully I won’t be tempted to say anything else to them.
Pamela & Carlotta,
The information on MLK’s embracing of ecumenical spirituality was well documented. I agree that a dissenting view is sometimes needed in order to bolster the validity of a claim. When I was in ministry training, I often had to ask questions from an unsaved sinners perspective in order to help me understand how to effectively witness.
In this case, however when coupled with MLK’s association with Communists, homosexuals, atheists, Hindu’s, Indian spiritualists and the like – the fruit is overwhelming.
It is believed that later in his life, MLK did draw closer to Jesus – and we can only pray that he repented before his violent death.
The point is still the same – many profess to be Christians and yet act in a completely contrary way.
Also, I find it interesting that as Obama tries to move more to “the middle” since he’s the official nominee, he sends his wife out to sell his message of homosexual equality. Yet, the black elite, so-called Christians, and others will still vote for him.
Again, this is a great article.
So now you are a whore. Boy they are really tolerant, aren’t they? Totally non-judgmental. Amazing. You are a whore because you are not married with kids no matter if you were married when you had the kids or not. Not much common sense, much less biblical knowledge. Not once in the Bible did it say a woman with children was a whore. It is not found anywhere.
Persecution for the sake of the gospel is already here. We better man up.
speakingtruth, well said!
Those things about MLK I hadn’t really heard before nor have I researched myself yet. I’ve always wondered about what he believed about Christ. Like Pamela, I really would like to know more about his papers.
Well, I started a slight war over on the “Michelle Obama Watch” talking about homosexuality being immoral. You all get a chance, take a look at this site: Michelle Obama Watch article
on GLBT support
imspeakingtruth, I have read some papers that MLK wrote as well. Not taking away from anything said about that, at the same time I wonder if the papers were assignments that did not necessarily reflect the views of the writer. I would really like to know that. The reason I ask this is because I have known people that attended seminaries and Bible schools that were asked to argue a point that totally did not have any support in the word. I have not studied a lot of those writings but I know they exist. I think it was when the papers found their final resting place. It does make one question just where he stood with the Lord. Unfortunately many seminaries produce people that question the validity of the scriptures, the very thing the are supposed to be trained in. You may have more info about this that I do. I had my mind on other things at the time I took a look at a couple of writings.
Obama is a product of his former church. If that is the only ‘Christian’ church he attended for 20+ years it’s no wonder he is speaking like he does. If all you hear is a message that there is more than one way to God that is going to shape your worldview. I have empathy for people like this. Many Christians have embraced error at some point because they believed the preachers. I know I did. I see the same here with Obama. If this is all he ever heard in church we should not be surprised at what we are hearing now. He may truly believe he has heard the gospel and that he is a true Christian.
More and more I take to heart verses in the word that say (1) we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God, (2) test the spirits — context in 1 John is checking out the preachers and their teachings and other verses that strongly exhort us to commune with the Lord through the Holy Spirit and God’s word, the more sure word of prophecy.
We are really in the last of the last days. In Matt 24 was asked about the signs of the end of the age. The first sign he mentioned was about deception and false doctrine, NOT wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes and other stuff listed there. The first sign mentioned was deception.
Good article Carlotta.
Anyone expecting anything different from the Obama camp is naive enough to think that Obama was ever a Christian in the first place. It’s clear he believes in a “god”, but not the Sovereign God we worship. He believes in a god that loves everybody and all of the vile things that they may do who holds to no moral or ethical law.
Obama regurgitates the mantra of universalists AND he sat under a black racist for 20 years (who used to be prominantly described as his “spiritual mentor” before it became unpopular to mention J Wright and Obama in the same sentence). We were fooled once (well, some of us were fooled once) when we thought GWB was a Christian (which he clearly isn’t), now many will fall for the same trick again.
Also, I hate to drag MLK Jr. into this but I’ve got to continue shining the light of truth on him also. While MLK Jr was a visionary leader in the civil rights movement (and it was God’s sovereign will to use him for that purpose at that time), MLK (the Christian minister) had difficulty believing the Lordship of Christ, the authority of scripture, and the virgin birth. We also can’t forget that MLK dabbled in Universalism, Unitarianism, Ecuminism, Eastern Thought (his love for Ghandi) and threw “Christianity” in as well.
My point is that what we’re seeing from Obama is nothing new – the foundation of Sola Scriptura (scripture alone) is not very popular in the mainstream, so folks who want to “get ahead” have to mix the authoritative Word of God with other popular “stuff” to make it easier to swallow. We see it with pulpit pimps of every stripe, charismatic motivational speakers like Rick Warren, Joel Osteen and TD Jakes, and we will continue to see it with politicians until the Lord returns
Pamela, I got a chance to listen to those and read the comments. Pretty enlightening! Talking about the Obama cultist I did enjoy! I like the comparisons between Obama and McCain.
You’re right, a black Republican in Baltimore is very rare indeed!
I should have mentioned him to you sooner. I guess with the entries you had about Senator Obama he was the first one that came to mind. You will love the previous one about talking with an Obama cultist.
If I was still living back east I would meet him for dinner. To say that meeting black traditionalists that are willing to buck the black establishment IN MD is a rare breed indeed. I was shocked that he was located in MD. Remember this is where I grew (DC metro area). I said WHAT when I found him. I do not remember how. His RSS feed was immediately added to my reader. When I am able to start blogging again you bet he will be in my blog list.
I likes it!
Thanks for sharing Pam, I’ll be adding him to my blogroll! Hey, let me know when you start writing again so I can add you too!
Your comments are very, very good!
Now back to his site…
To bring comfort to all the white racists out there:
This is a blog that I found last year from Conservative Brother. He just posted the following three posts about Obama. If only preachers were as bold. As far as I know he is not a minister.
http://wakeupblackamerica.blogspot.com/2008/06/how-liberals-like-barack-obama-are.html
http://wakeupblackamerica.blogspot.com/2008/06/how-liberals-like-obama-are-trying-to.html

Anyone from where I grew up (DC area) that is this bold I will read.
Christine and Pamela I agree with you both strongly that there’s enough about Obama for us to question his judgement. It bothers me to no end about his lack of judgement regarding all that he’s surrounded himself in his life! His pastor, his friends, his political confidants, I mean…can this man make good judgement about anything? And he wants to lead our nation? That alone weakens his image as a very strong candidate for anything! Even his wife may be considered questionable because it was she from what I understand that highly influenced him in his choice to choose that church, a church that completely emasculates manhood. They ridicule the headship of the husband and any patriarchal rule while complimenting feminism under what they call, “Womanism.”
It’s flat out ridiculous of his choices of friends. But I know that with much prayer for him to search the scriptures for himself, who knows how much he can change if he only allows God’s shaping of his mind and will!
That is a real popular accusation against bm these days, especially after the book came out a few years ago. It could be true but it is too easy a slander to make about someone.
Even without that accusation there is enough with the caliber of his friends to make you question what is going on. He talks about judgment. That is almost laughable until you realize that he is running to lead our country.
I completely understand. Lots of people are unsure about these allegations. With Sinclair’s shady past, how can we know he is telling the truth now?
I am uncertain what to believe about this particular incident. That’s why I simply write “Talk Wisdom reports…you decide“
So much about this Sinclair/Obama story is very suspicious. The media silence about it is highly suspect, too. If the allegations are false, why hide from them?
Besides, there is already enough corruption surrounding Obama as it is. Don’t necessarily need this one to come to the conclusion that he’s not fit to be president.
Christine, I missed your comment above about Larry Sinclair.
I had read about those three people that belonged to Rev. Wright’s church that were murdered. It’s all pretty creepy. But as far as rumors about Obama, I won’t take anything seriously unless there’s some real evidence that speaks the truth.
So I’ll be laying low about those stories until I read something about it with real substance.
And yes, that is an awesome quote from MLK!!!
I’m ashamed that a white woman knows more about MLK than me!
Not really!
Christine, I feel ya’ – now! At first I didn’t because I truly believed we had a Christian running for the presidency that could please both black and white people of America – and everyone else as well! I wasn’t even turned off from him because of Rev. Wright only because of my own family experience. I had a sister totally engulfed in that black activist group, the US organization, but her regular life she loved and associated with all people. She was going through a crisis with her identity and sided with Dr. Karenga (creator of Kwanzaa) for her black identity. She was (and still is) extremely popular with everyone, the first of us to date a white man, and hangs with her white friends with her Harley motorcycle (yep, she’s one of those).
So, I viewed Obama as the same type. Just a black man going through an identity crisis, hanging with these black radicals to prove his blackness.
But, when his true beliefs started appearing, then that’s when my feelings and opinions of him began shifting BIG TIME! Now I feel as you do, that he’s a very dangerous person to consider holding the office of our presidency!
I know there’s a lot you may not understand regarding “black identity” here in the US, but what I’m trying to teach my sister is that who we are in Christ is far more important than our skin color!
Don’t worry, I will never consider you a racist! Just a woman like me, crazy in love with our Lord!
Carlotta,
Just wanted to say that I know I appear to do nothing but criticize Obama. It is not because of his skin color. It is because of his bad policies, lack of biblical morals and ethics, and his flip-flopping on issues.
I would celebrate right along with the mis-informed Obamabots if someone other than Obama happened to be black and running for president! Someone with the attitude of MLK Jr.:
“The end of life is not to be happy, nor to achieve pleasure and avoid pain, but to do the will of God, come what may.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Is that an awesome quote or what!!??
Have you heard about the Larry Sinclair scandal? Obama may not be the faithful, loving husband as depicted on the latest magazine cover.
It is rumored that he’s been on the down low for many years. I wonder if his wife knows about it?
Carlotta, have you seen my series of posts on this subject?
There are lots of people supporting Sinclair and his allegations.
There are also those (especially the DNC and the Obamabots) trying EVERYTHING to discredit Sinclair.
Sinclair held a National Press Club news conference a week or so ago…did you see it on the news?
No.
They are shielding Obama from ANY scandal allegations.
If this had been an accuser of McCain – what do you think the MSM would have done with it?
I did find one journalist that covered the apparent hush-up going on about Sinclair.
Some People Are Free to Speak – Others Should Not Be?
That one post has LOTS of links with many posts and hundreds, if not thousands, of comments about this scandal and the MSM deliberate cover-up.
The most concise post that I have read is this one:
Three Members of Obama’s Church Killed
Scary….isn’t it?
Like I wrote at my blog when discussing this web of scandal and deceit…Talk Wisdom reports…you decide.
AMEN!
Remember the church they were a part of. They did not hear the true gospel. They heard a lot of man’s ideas being called the gospel.
He will not be able to stand the fire of being president. He is too idealistic to be president. When the real world hits he will buckle at this point unless he has a true encounter with the Lord. That could happen. However as things are it is frightening. Intellectual ideas do not stop bombs and bullets. Intellectual ideas do not turn around economies. Intellectual ideas do not solve issues of the heart. Only the true gospel will change the hearts of men and women.
I’m standing for a miracle. We need one. Either way I’m asking for a heart change. The Lord can do that.
Pam,you’re so right – the TRUE body of Christ! What makes Obama and his wife’s acts so despicable, is that they dare call themselves Christian! And yes, how sad it is that they don’t even realize that Satan is jumping for joy for their “good works!”
Christine, yes, that was nasty! You repented so you’re forgiven!
You know, I really had respected these two because of the apparent love they have for one another. I even respected Michelle’s desire to be with her girls as her husband works. But what’s sad is that if they distort the bible so badly, how will their relationship/family survive? God’s word is the authority in everything as we know but if it’s not respected in one area, it will not be respected when it’s really needed – as the basis for all of their family counsel! So in other words, will that marriage stand the true tests of fire? Scary to think to ask the question will he stand the test of fire as the President of the United States?
It’s really sad when people do not know they are being used by satan to do his dirty work.
Why am I not surprised?
UGH!!!
Would it be too offensive to post Michelle’s name a different way?
micHELLe
Sorry…couldn’t resist…saw it on another blog…
Too nasty?
I will confess and repent…
It’s been a loonnggg busy Friday for me!!
…excuses…excuses…
The TRUE body of Christ can stop this. Those policies will set up our government to persecute us. He already said he would sign that God awful employment bill that would make all religious organizations except for churches employ homosexuals. It is obvious to me that his ‘faith’ means nothing. He is hostile to Christianity, no matter how much he says he is a Christian. He knows full well this will impact those of us that believe the Bible.
Tolerance is a code word for persecution of Bible believing Christians. Christians better understand the meaning. All they have to do is to watch these religious denominations/groups that scream tolerance. The ones that suffer are those that try and quote scripture and use it as the basis of doctrine. The civil war has begun over doctrine.
